Portsmouth South MP Flick Drummond has urged residents to make their final feelings known about plans to close the Guildhall Walk GP surgery and walk-in centre.

The consultation on plans to move facilities to the St Mary’s area of the city ends on 19th February and Flick has written to the local Clinical Commissioning Group stating her opposition to the proposal saying it is away from patients and public transport routes.

‘I have been clear that I do not think this plan is a good idea as the Guildhall Walk site is in the city centre and much used,’ Flick said.

“I very much appreciate the CCG's intentions are good, but I simply cannot see how taking such an important service away from a place where people can access it easily can be good for patient care and I have heard similar concerns from constituents too.

‘It's now the last few days of the consultation and I urge residents to make their feelings known, so that the CCG has a full picture of what everyone thinks.’
