A NEW office for a homecare service in Bishop's Waltham has been officially opened by an MP.
Meon Valley MP Flick Drummond cut the ribbon to open the office of Right at Home Mid Hampshire at Bishop's Waltham Library on July 22.
Managing director Nick Turner has run Right at Home Mid Hampshire for eight years and wanted to expand his network to support more people in the region.
They are in the process of building a team of trained CareGivers to deliver everything from personal care, companionship, and errand services, through to 24-hour live-in care within people’s own homes.
At the launch, Mr Turner said: “We have open this office to provide more social care and private care in the community. It's very exciting for us as it's much needed.
“I wanted to ask Flick to come, because looking at her parliamentary record and her hard work for constituents, she really does put the work in.”
Ms Drummond said: “Having a really good organisation which has got people that really care is so important and I'm sure it will absolutely thrive here as it's much needed. People like to stay in their own homes, they don't like to be in another home.”
The Bishop’s Waltham office is the second that Mr Turner has opened and will be supported by the CQC-rated ‘Outstanding’ parent business Right at Home Mid Hampshire.
The first office was open in Chandler's Ford eight years ago. Before that, Mr Turner had spent most of his career in furniture making.
Mr Turner said: “It's a very proud moment for us to open the second office in Bishop's Waltham because we've known for a long time that social and private care is needed over here and it will enable to to reach a much wider area.
“It's a huge privilege to let the team take charge of the new office in a new area.
“It's great to have the library location because we're already being exposed to so many people who have children at the school and those involved in church activities at the village hall, so we feel very much at home already.”
The new office will mainly supply private care, but also continue to work with the NHS and Hampshire County Council.
