MPs have come together to take part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
Around 200 MPs took part in the event in support of Macmillan Cancer Support last Wednesday which saw a new report by the charity called "Cancer Nursing on the line".
It calls for a Cancer Nurse Fund to invest in training the next generation of cancer nurses, whose numbers need to double by 2030 to ensure that people living with cancer get the support they need.
Meon Valley MP, Flick Drummond was one who took part in the event in parliament and spoke with Macmillan professionals to hear about the concerns of people living with cancer.
She said: "“I was really pleased to support this wonderful charity and its campaign to have more specialist cancer nurses trained up in the UK," said Flick.
“This shortfall of 3000 cancer nurses is a big challenge as we build back from the pandemic.
“Without such magnificent help from these nurses, people living with cancer often struggle with their medication and could end up at accident & emergency.
“I will be writing to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to find out what his department is doing to cover the shortage of cancer nurses.”
