Busy day yesterday meeting some amazing people including the Horndean Morrison’s community champions, Karen and Sara. They told me about the work that Morrisons are doing including helping charities, schools and the Foodbank where I held my cost of living event recently. It is so lovely to meet people so passionate about their job. I then went on to spend the afternoon selling poppies in Watelooville Sainsburys with another amazing person, Dave Allport who was in HMS Bristol in the Falklands War and I meet him frequently as he also does a huge amount of work in the community including the Cowplain Men’s Shed and Age Concern. I then held a ‘Meet your MP’ in the Fox and Hounds, massive thank you to Rob Stark, chairman of this community pub (recently in the Times for an outstanding example of a community pub) and Steve, the landlord. It was good to talk to so many people and we will be following up on issues raised. I will be holding these monthly around the constituency and will publicise the dates shortly. By the time we left at 6.15, the pub was filling up fast.
