Another brilliant day in the constituency. Early morning start outside Petersgate Infant School talking to the chair of Clanfield Parish council, John Bannell, and Chair of Governors, Helen Glover, plus county councillor, Rob Mocatta and district councillor, Arthur Agate, about the school crossing and how to make it safer for children. We watched as parents, children and cars negotiated the morning rush hour. Lots of plans as to what to do. After meeting some constituents to help them with problems, I spent the afternoon with Community Safety Officer, Gary McCullough in Swanmore. Gary looks after several villages and seemed to know everyone after just 18 months and is able to sort out local issues very quickly. A great initiative by the parish councils to keep the villages safe.
