Statement from Meon Valley MP Flick Drummond on Coronavirus
At present, I am continuing to meet with constituents but with added precautions around keeping a distance and not shaking hands.
However, I am also offering telephone and video conferencing, if constituents would prefer that approach.
If anyone feels they cannot meet me because of Covid-19 then, of course, the meeting will be rearranged for a later date – no-one will miss out on any help I can give.
Similarly, in emergencies, I will be available to meet in person but, again, with those added precautions in place, and with the offer of a telephone or video call.
This is my present position, but what is happening is fast moving and it could change if government guidance changes.
I am posting regular updates on my Facebook page so the public can go there for advice and the latest news, or they can access government websites and social media feeds.
As the Prime Minister said yesterday, this is the worst public health crisis in a generation. We must all play our part in delaying this virus by good personal hygiene and limiting contact between those who are infected and those who are not.
This means washing our hands for 20 seconds and catching sneezes in tissues. Importantly, those with confirmed or possible coronavirus (COVID-19) infection should self-isolate at home for seven days.
