Building on the outcomes of The COP26 Summit, various local organisations and the Mayor of Winchester are organising the Winchester District Young People’s Climate Assembly. This will bring together participants aged between 16 and 30 for a one-day deliberative event to be held at the University of Winchester on 20th November 2021. The Assembly will work together on a vision for a fair transition to a zero carbon future and on the priority actions needed in Winchester District to get there.
Their intention is to give young people from across the district a platform to learn more about what might be done locally to tackle the causes of climate change and shape priorities to deliver a net zero carbon future in a way that is fair to all sections of the community.
The organisers are looking to recruit participants for the Assembly from right across the District with an aim of getting three young people aged between 16 and 30 years old from each ward in the District to the Assembly. Anyone interested should visit www.acceler8winchester.org.uk or contact [email protected] before 29th October to find out more.
