Last night I went to the #CatchupwithCancer drop in and had a look at the figures of those who are waiting more than 62 days for treatment after an urgent referral. Nationally we are at 22% which is low compared to other areas of the country but it is still way too high. This morning I met with The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and talked about the Government’s 10 year plan to tackle the cancer. I know there is a lot more work to do but this is a start.
This morning I also went to the Ovarian Cancer drop-in event in Westminster hosted by the APPG for Ovarian Cancer. It is important to raise awareness of the symptoms as they can’t be overlooked.
Cancer is a truly horrible disease and I want to assure constituents across Meon Valley that this is a key priority of mine.
