It was an honour to open the new office of Right at Home in the library in Bishops Waltham. Nick Turner set this up in mid- Hampshire 8 years ago and has now expanded to include the Meon Valley with personal care, help when coming back from hospital to keep people in their homes for longer. I met many of the carers and they were enthusiastic about the work that they are doing and about the organisation which pays for travel time and costs as well as a decent wage. Another organisation providing home care with our ageing population is much needed. I also visited the Solent NHS Special Care Dental Team for a home visit. Dentists visit those patients who for a number of reasons, in this case someone with Multiple Sclerosis, who find it difficult to be transported to the clinic. There was a lot of equipment to lug around and it included a portable X-ray. We are very lucky to have this service in our area looking after vulnerable people. These visits are very helpful in identifying the issues around Meon Valley and lobbying Ministers back in Westminster. #meonvalley #amazing jobs #heroesinthecommunity
