Weekly Update - 23rd October

There was an awful lot going on in Parliament this week, from meetings to questions to headline-grabbing debates and also some smaller debates about local issues that are also very important. It is important to be busy, but I have to admit I am looking forward to the short recess next week!

Free School Meals

I appreciate that this week's vote on free school meals has caused a great deal of anger, though I am afraid I believe much of that anger is based on misleading information about what those voting on this motion were actually voting for.

Last week ended very nicely with a visit over the weekend to some businesses in the constituency. It was a pleasure to “officially open” and be shown around the revamped Westlands Farm Shop by the owners, Graham and Kayleigh Collett.

Parliament Week - Get involved

MP Flick Drummond is inviting everyone in Meon Valley to get involved in UK Parliament Week next month and learn about the country’s democracy, people power and making change happen. The annual event is taking place from 1-7 November to help people from across the UK engage with their UK Parliament
