As you may have seen in the news or on my regular weekly newsletters, the Boundary Commission for England has put forward proposals to redraw the Parliamentary map across the country.
Today I asked the Prime Minister about when he will bring forward a register of home-schooled children to make sure they are identified and make sure their needs are being met so they do not fall through the net.
Had a great time showing this amazing group from Cowplain Social Club around Parliament on Monday. It is an amazing place to visit so email me if you would like to come.
Meon Valley MP Flick Drummond has met up with the Police and Crime Commissioner in Westminster to discuss rural crime and speeding.
Flick met Donna Jones with other Hampshire MPs.
Today I spoke in the Hunting Trophies (Import Prohibition) Bill. Over the years I have received many hundreds of emails specifically on trophy hunting from constituents. Often, they have been responding to campaigns by lobby groups which focus on specific incidents.
Everyone except one person has agreed the new constituency that will include parts of the Meon Valley should be called Forest of Bere. Many think it reflects the constituency so much better so I would be very grateful if people could write to the Boundary Commission to reflect this.
Today I spoke on the Electricity and Gas Transmission (Compensation) Bill brought to the house by Dr Liam Fox. This is such an important Bill and in the current climate we need more resilient networks and wider utility provision.
Today I spoke in the General debate on the independent review of Children’s social care. I believe more needs to be done on this and I look forward to see the Government take points raised in the debate on board.
