Today I asked DEFRA Minister, Rebecca Pow, about the impact wet wipes have on our sewage systems. After seeing what goes on and learning about this issue in Havant and Bishops Waltham, I have seen how important it is to raise awareness of this important issue.
Last Friday afternoon, I held a first public meeting about regenerating Waterlooville where Councillor Alex Rennie announced that Havant Borough Council is creating a Waterlooville Regeneration Reserve which will be available to help develop the vision.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to speak in Dan Jarvis' Adjournment Debate on the 40th Anniversary of the Falklands War. The war touched every part of the UK including Meon Valley, so I was honoured to be able to pay tribute to some of those who served.
I went to Petersfield to meet the amazing team at NHS Solent Dentist Specialist Dental care which looks after all those for whom for all sorts of reasons, they can’t go to a regular dentist.
I visited Busy Bees Forest School in Bishops Sutton which is a great resource for these children all year round and caught up with issues surrounding the cost of childcare.
I hope everyone had a fun Platinum Jubilee celebration. I had a busy recess with Jubilee parties at Age Concern in Waterlooville (including meeting Dame Caroline Dinenage’s aunt who at 96 had only just retired from being one of the main organisers) and Wisteria Lodge in Horndean.
