Again, the media and PMQs have concentrated on parties that happened in No 10. I am still waiting to comment until I have had the whole picture as I was not there and have only read about it in the media.
I was very pleased to have been asked to lay a wreath at A Service of Dedication of a Memorial Stone and Remembrance service this morning. The memorial stone is right by the South Downs Way between Warnford and Exton so walkers will see it as they pass.
It seems extraordinary that it was 40 years ago that our troops left for the Falklands. I know many of those veterans are still feeling the effects of that war and we continue to remember the 255 young men that did not return.
The best April Fool of the day goes to Rory Stewart who tweeted that he had been appointed No10’s Director of Communications. I have a lot of time for Rory and he is much missed in Parliament.
Today I asked the Health Secretary, the Rt Hon Sajid Javid, about the standard of CQC inspections in response to the final Ockenden Review. The CQC only rated maternity services inadequate in 2018, this is unacceptable.
